Wintertime Reminders
Resident friendly wintertime reminders from the City of Nevis
When snow plowing will occur:
- Snow accumulation of 3 inches or more
- Drifting of snow that causes problems for travel
- Icy conditions which seriously affect travel
- Time of snowfall in relationship to heavy use of streets
If your vehicle is left/parked on the street snow will be plowed around it.
Sidewalks: it is the responsibility of the resident or property owner to remove all accumulated snow from all sidewalks along public streets adjoining their property. This includes any snow plowed from public streets onto the sidewalk
This information can be found in the Snow Plowing Policy
Frozen water lines
With colder weather coming, if you believe your water freezes, please contact the city. As the homeowner the freezing of water lines can be an unexpected expense as you are responsible for the water lines from the curb stop to your house, and the replacement of the frozen water meter.
